For this simple spice blend, you can use any type of pure chile powder you have on hand, but ancho adds great flavor without serious heat. For more of a kick, substitute ground chipotle or increase the cayenne.
- 2 tablespoons ancho chile powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
The directions is simple.. you only Combine all of the ingredients in an airtight container and shake to blend. Store for up to 6 months.
